Week 14...Time To Put Up or Shut Up!

The last week of the RUTS Dyanasty (powered by BRUT) Season 2 regular season is here! And week 14 is action packed with great matchups and compelling storylines.

Georgia (vs. #10 Texas), Florida State (vs. #5 Penn State), and Virginia Tech (@ #8 Oklahoma) all take on highly ranked out-of-conference computer foes, and the outcomes in those games will help shape the BCS title race. The Hokies, even with 3 losses, have a legitimate shot of creeping into the BCS title game if they can beat the Sooners and Clemson next week in the ACC title game.

Clemson plays host to the Ole Miss Rebels. The Tigers climbed to #3 in the latest BCS rankings and are hoping against hope for a USC or LSU loss in the coming weeks. The long-awaited rematch with rival Virginia Tech lies ahead next week, but the Tigers can't look past Ole Miss, who has compiled a 7-4 record in its first season of RUTS play.

According to Commisioner Haag and Vice-Commisioner Nunley, the biggest game of Week 14 will be played in Dolphins Stadium, as the #1 ranked LSU Tigers travel to Miami to face the 8-3 (and somehow unranked) Hurricanes. Miami is coming off an impressive victory over Georgia, in which the Canes ran the ball 38 times for more than 200 yards against the Dawgs defense. RBs Graig Cooper and Bryce Brown will need to have similar performances for the Canes to pull the upset. LSU will commit to stopping the run and forcing Hurricanes' QB Robert "The Chosen One" Marve to beat them with his arm. Marve, a backup for most of the season says he is up for the challenge.

Coach StuBucksman poses on South Beach with a few admiring fans

LSU, which has a big rematch against Florida in next week's SEC title game, is coming into this game on a dominating tear on both sides of the ball. Having been ranked #1 since the pre-season, the Tigers have averaged 67.9 points per game and have an average margain of victory of 46.8 points. Even more daunting for the Canes is that the Tigers have beaten every opponent this season by 30 points or more.

LSU's features a daunting array of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball, and it will be interesting to see who Miami keys on to stop.

The LSU coaching staff have been concerned all week about the Tigers' 3-3-5 base defense and its ability to contain the powerful Hurricane Pain Train ("HPT")of Cooper and Brown, but recent practice reports indicate a tweaked defensive strategy that LSU coaches and players are confident with.

The team's two coaches, whose battles on the Sega, PS1, PS2, and PS3 fields date back to the mid 90s, share a mutual respect for eating, facial hair, long walks on the beach, Brut cologne, and football fundamentals...thus making this game a potential instant classic. What StuBucksman has done in 1 season at Miami has been stellar, but can he lead his team to victory over the nation's best? Can UTVOL54 avoid distractions and slow down the "HPT" in this "trap game" before next week's rematch against the Gators?

Week 14's game will also be the first time the Canes coaches will sport their new coaching apparrel. Bike Athletic is the Canes' new sponsor for coaching attire. This week, StuBucksman will be wearing hunter green BIKE shorts, with a collard coaching shirt (tucked in of course), along with a wistle around his neck. "When we went into this process, I wanted to influence my fashion style "comfy/sexy/throwback/hip-hop" all into one. Not only will the fans enjoy this new line of apparel, but my loins will be refreshed every second I have these new BIKE shorts on," said StuBucksman.

Much trash talk has ensued this week, but the score will be settled at Joe Robbie Stadium/Pro Player Field/Dolphins Stadium.

LSU Star Receiver Terrance Toliver attempts, unsuccessfully to talk Coach UTVOL54 from wearing his tall, white, Elmer Fudd onto the field in an earlier game this season.

"I'm just pumped up about going to the stadium where Ace Ventura: Pet Detective was filmed," said LSU star Trindon Holliday. "Talk about Jim Carey in his prime!"

Touche, Trindon! Touche!

The folks at ESPN Gameday predict a Tigers victory, but don't be surprised if the Canes have a few tricks up their sleeves and make this one closer than the experts think. If this game is close in the 4th quarter, it's anyone's game for the taking.
