Week 8 Preview

Georgia Tech @ #5 Clemson
This must have been the week's "ESPN Thursday Night" Game, because it's already been played. I won't name the player of the game or stats yet, but Clemson continues to roll, 66-0.
Speaking of Georgia Tech, is there an uglier uniform in college football today? With such great team colors, how did they manage to screw this up so bad?!

Tigers, Cocks to Rumble
ESPN Gameday Back in Columbia

Cocky To Replace Desmond Howard on the Set

#15 LSU will bring an angry bunch of Tigers into Williams-Brice Stadium this week and will look to bounce back after last week's defeat against Florida. That feat, however, will not be easy, as the #8 South Carolina Gamecocks will be ready and waiting.

The Gamecocks are 7-0 and have rolled through the first half of their schedule. A win against the Tigers is crucial, as South Carolina still has tussles with Tennessee, #2 Florida, and #5 Clemson in the coming weeks. The Gamecocks' aerial attack features QB Stephen Garcia (see story below), Heisman favorite WR Kenny McKinley, RB Mike Davis, and TE James Cook. LSU will have to pull out all the stops to slow down South Carolina's many weapons.

LSU is trying to put last week's game behind them. The Tigers lead by 14 points twice in the first half against the Gators, and lead 21-14 with the ball inside the Florida 10 yard line with 8 seconds remaining in the first half, when Florida DB Major Wright stepped in front of a Jarrett Lee pass and cruised 100 yards for the Pick-6. The score was tied 21-21 at the half, and the Tigers were unable to regain the momentum before losing 38-28. Can the Tigers use the loss as motivation? Another SEC loss would drop LSU to second place in the SEC West (behind Alabama, who LSU plays in Week 11), so it will be critical for LSU to come out poised and confident in a hostile atmosphere.

ESPN Gameday host Lee Corso has been adament that Steve Spurrier can't and won't get it dont at South Carolina. Will the Gamcocks be able to take the next huge step in becoming a national power and remain unbeaten as the continue on toward their date of destiny with the Florida Gators in Week 12? Coach Spurrier is doing everything in his power to get his troops ready to play and his fans ready to cheer. Will it work?

Extreme Makeover: Garcia Edition
After leading the South Carolina Gamecocks to a 7-0 start and a #8 national ranking, QB Stephen Garcia has hit a crossroads. It has come to our attention that starting this week, in the Gamecocks game against #15 LSU in Columbia, Garcia will debut his new look. Snapshots of Garcia's "old" look can be seen here and here.
"Yeah, I used to look poised, athletic, and defenses respected me for my Peyton Manning/Dan Marino-like facemask. But that's not me," stated a tearful Garcia. "I need to come out and show the world who I really am. The game designers at EA Sports really messed me up!"

Garcia said he drew his inspiration from The King of Pop, whose famous 1980s to 1990s-Present transformation is the stuff of legends. Garcia's favorite song also allowed him the freedom to express his image, he says. "Man, just go watch that video starting at the 7 minute mark," insists Garcia. "That is the true definition of poise, charisma, a little (a lot) of creepiness, and style. I want that to be me. I think I'm in love with him."

So, starting this week, Garcia will debut his new look for the world to see:

Disclaimer-------This is really how Stephen Garcia looks in real life. He's wrongly depicted in the video game, so "Coach Adam James Stubucksman Spurrier Nunley" will be editing his looks for this weeks game, just so no one is offended...and if you are offended, go watch the video above starting at the 7 minute mark...it's creepiness alone will leave you in a cold sweat, unable to remember ever being offended at all.
Thanks,
Managament

#14 Virginia Tech @ Boston College
Hokies On War Path To ACC Title Game
Virginia Tech travels to Chestnut Hill this week to play conference rival Boston College. A victory would would allow the surging Hokies to continue to rise in the polls before next week's showdown with Florida State. Virginia Tech's balanced attack features emerging leader Tyrod Taylor at QB, and his primary targets include the dynamic Kenny Lewis at RB and TE Sam Wheeler.
In other news, Head Coach Frank Beamer will have two weeks to prepare for his new role as Coordinator of End Zone Painting at Lane Stadium, after the entire VT groundscrew was fired for mis-painting the end zone in the Hokies Week 6 game against Cincinnati. Oops!

#24 Florida State @ NC State
Seminoles Look to Beat Up On Whipping Boys of the ACC
Florida State Coach Bobby Bowden said, "Dog Gonnit, there's no ifs, ands, or buts about it, we need to win by 50 this week," when asked how his team viewed this week's game against the struggling NC State Wolfpack. NC State has already been blown out by two teams in the RUTSODynasty this season (South Carolina 84-7 in week 1 & Clemson 55-24 in week 3), and the Seminoles look to add thier name to the list. For some reason, the 4-1, #24 Seminoles, have been unable to climb in the media or coaches poll. Big wins in the next two weeks should cure that.

Vanderbilt @ Georgia
Uga says, "I'm sick and tired of this $h#*!"; Will Boycott Game

After being peed on and humilated by rival SEC dog, Smokey, last weekend in Athens, Georgia's bulldog mascot, Uga, is boycotting this week's game against SEC East doormat Vanderbilt. Georgia, which opened the season ranked #1 in the nation, had high hopes of winning the school its first national championship since 1980. "I wanted a ring so bad," said Uga.
Uga insists he hasn't given up on his beloved Bulldogs by any means, and is only boycotting this week's game because Vanderbilt's mascot, Mr. Commodore, gives Uga the "hibbity jibbities."
