Week 14: Rivalry Week

Well, it's the last week of the season 1 regular season, and this week is chock full of rivalry games, including two great matchups between some dynasty teams. Season 1 has been a blast, and as we close out the regular season, two thumbs up to all of you for making it a success!

RIVALRY WEEK MATCHUPS

Florida @ Florida State
"The Battle for the Governor's Cup/Sunshine Showdown"

The undefeated and #1 ranked Florida Gators wrap up the regular season with their annual battle with the Seminoles. Florida State will be playing without offensive star Preston Parker, who is nursing a torn pectoral. The Gators, who have won the previous four meetings against the Seminoles, are looking to finish atop the polls heading into next week's SEC Championship Game rematch with the LSU Tigers.

South Carolina @ Clemson
"The Battle of the Palmetto State"

In a rivalry that dates back to 1896, there is no love lost between the Tigers and the Gamecocks. Most people remember "The Brawl" from the 2004 contest. The 2004 scuffle was also joined by a less intense brawl in 1983.
All history aside, this year's game has huge implications on the national title picture. South Carolina still has an outside shot at an at-large birth in a BCS bowl game, while Clemson, at #2 in the BCS Poll is looking to take one more step toward securing their spot in Miami for the BCS National Championship Game.

LSU @ Arkansas
"The Battle for The Golden Boot"
LSU looks to regain claim to the Golden Boot after Arkansas upset then #1 ranked LSU 50-48 in 3 Overtimes in Baton Rouge. The Tigers have secured a place in next week's SEC Championship Game against Florida, but need to keep their confidence high with a victory this week.

Georgia Tech @ Georgia
"Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate"
This huge rivalry in the state of Georgia and the southeast has been dominated by the Bulldogs in recent years. Georgia struggled with a tough early season schedule this year, but have surged in the last half of the season and are fighting to become bowl eligible at 6-6.

Virginia @ Virginia Tech
"The Commonwealth Challenge"
The Hokies look to make a statment against in-state rival Virginia. For the Hokies, this game is a tune up for next week's matchup with Clemson in the ACC Championship Game in Jacksonville.
