Games of the Week:
Week 8 provides us with two great conference matchups, both which will have major implications in the division races in both the ACC and SEC.
#20 Virginia Tech @ #2 Clemson
Can anyone slow down Clemson? Winners of 20 straight RUTS dynasty games, the Tigers can beat you in a variety of ways. The Hokies think they have the answer in true freshman phenom Charles Butler. Butler, who is used all over the field in a balanced Hokie offense could prove to be the turning point in this game. With 1 conference loss already, Tech can ill afford to lose its 2nd game. A loss almost locks up the Coastal Division for Miami. Clemson's offense, lead by senior tailback CJ Spiller has given opponents fits this season, and they will look to do the same at home this week. If Tech, known for its stifling run defense, can contain Spiller out of the backfield, look for this rivalry game to go down to the wire.
_______________
#23 Georgia vs. #13 Florida
The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party
In one of the SEC's biggest games of the year, the 4-2 Bulldogs square off against the 5-2 Gators in Jacksonville. The winner of this game will have a major leg-up in the SEC East race. Georgia enters the game on a 4 game winning streak and is 4-0 in the SEC, while Florida has 1 conference loss. Neither team has a home field advantage in this annual contest, as the stadium is divided up 50/50. Georgia will look to use its punishing running game to keep the ball away from the speedy Gator offense. This game was close last season, and look for a resurgent Bulldogs squad to play well. This one will be closer than the experts think.
