Game of the Week:
THE SUNSHINE STATE SHOWDOWN!
MIAMI @ #20 FLORIDA STATE
The Miami Hurricanes (3-2) roll into Tallahassee this week riding a three game winning streak and looking to move to 4-0 in the ACC. The Seminoles (3-2), ranked #20 in the nation, have been on a tear in recent weeks, winning games with a surprising passing attack. The connection between QB Christian Ponder and WR Preston Parker has been lethal and will be difficult for Miami to contain.
For Miami, the formula is simple...a victory over Florida State almost locks up the ACC division race. The Canes have a game coming up against Virginia Tech, but the Hokies, who already have 1 conference loss (to FSU in week 5) still have a game on the schedule against 2nd-ranked Clemson. A one-loss (in the ACC) Miami team, who doesn't play Clemson in the regular season, could find themselves in the driver's seat in the ACC Coastal Division with a victory in Tallahassee.
Florida State has vowed to go old school this week, bringing back "Prime Time" Dieon Sanders to speak to the team. The Noles will commemorate Snders' visit by wearing headbands and jheri curl hair underneath their helmets.
Miami Coach StuBucksman retaliated by issuing a circa-1980s tribute to his city...rounding up Crockett and Tubbs to accompany the Canes to Tallahassee. Crockett and Tubbs will serve as "Official Team Security" for the duration of the season.
Doak-Campbell Stadium will be rocking and the Seminole fans will be in busting at the seams (this photo, by the way, is 1st thing that comes up in Google Images search of "Florida State Football"---what has happened to your program cjohnchavis!!??) ready to tear into the Canes! Will Miami answer the challenge and earn themselves a victory that could turn their season around. The Canes' running game will need to be clicking in order to keep the ball out of FSU's explosive offense.
ESPN COLLEGE GAMEDAY is on campus...we all know who the Sunshine Scooner is picking, but will his prediction stand? The Canes have promised to carry Coach StuBucksman off the field if they come out victorious.
