Week 2 Preview

#11 Virginia Tech @ #1 LSU
Hokies, Star Freshman, Ready For Death Valley (??)

Season 1 Results ~ Did Not Play

The Virginia Tech Hokies travel to Baton Rouge with one thing on their minds...upsetting the #1 team in the nation. Both the Hokies and the Bayou Bengals are coming off impressive 35 point victories in their respective season openers. Both teams also feature extraordinary stars - LSU with RB/WR Heisman front-runner Trindon Holliday and VA Tech with freshman sensation RB/QB Charles Butler. Holliday smirked this week when asked about Butler coming into Death Valley to steal the show. "We'll see," said Holliday. "What's his name again?"

Holliday: "Who is Charles Butler"

Butler, who is off-limits to the media as a true freshman said through his agent, I mean, team spokesman..."I'm Charles Butler, hear me roar."

The Hokies face an uphill battle. Not only are they playing in the 2nd most hostile stadium in college football, but they must contend with a ferocious Tiger defense that allowed only 2 first downs last week against Florida State, while piling up 503 yards of total offense with an aerial and ground assault. ESPN College Gameday is live on the scene. A victory by the Hokies will plant them smack dab in the middle of the national title race, while an LSU victory will solidify their spot atop of the college football landscape.

#12 Florida @ Miami
Gators & Canes Look For Redemption in Week 2

Season 1 Results ~ Florida 31, South Carolina 29 (Stubucksman was on SC's staff in season 1)

"Week 1 for us was a tropical storm," said Miami Coach StuBucksman. "Week 2 will be a class 5 hurricane."

And so starts the smack talk between two of college football's biggest in-state rivals. Both teams enter the game with 0-1 records, but can right the ship with a big win this week. New Florida Qb Cameron Newton performed admirably against Clemson last week in his first start as a Gator, and Florida has speed, speed, and more speed all over the field.

Florida Celebrates in Season 1 Win Against Miami

Miami ran the option offense in week 1 but StuBucksman has indicated a change may be in store for the Gators. "We've really been executing our fake punt offense well in practice...I think that's our future on offense right now." The winner of this game will need to take care of the football, control the line of scrimmage and clock, and score more points than the other team. It's that simple.

#3 Clemson @ #25 Georgia
Clemson Looks To Continue Its "Reloading" Season In Athens

Season 1 Results ~ Clemson 42, UGA 10

The Clemson Tigers ride into Athens this week to face the Bulldogs. Clemson, who faced its toughest test in its RUTS Dynasty history last week against Florida, looks to move to 2-0 on the season, while the Dawgs look to rebound after a crushing defeat against Virginia Tech, in which they gave up 70 points to the Hokies. Although Clemson lost a lot of proven talent from its offensive roster this season, Georgia's defense will have to play lights-out to slow down CJ Spiller in the backfield.

Ole Miss @ #17 Florida State
Rebels Rising, While Noles Look To Parker To Spark Offense

Season 1 Results ~ Did Not Play

Ole Miss got its RUTS dynasty season off to a rousing start last week by defeating Miami in a minor upset. QB Jevan Snead and WR Marshay Green provided just enough offense to squeak by the Canes. The Seminoles, who last season rode its offense to a 10 win season, find themselves searching for an identity on offense, and hope to avoid an 0-2 start to this season. Look for the Noles to turn to do-it-all playmaker Preston Parker to give the team a needed lift this week. An Ole Miss win would move them to 2-0 before next week's battle against Southern Cal. More importantly, a Rebel win would likely lead to a 7-0 start the season, as the next 5 games are against cpu teams, before a brutal final stretch of the season.
