Conference Championship Week

SEC Championship Game ~ Atlanta, GA
Gators~Tigers II: The Rematch
The #7 LSU Tigers and the #1 Florida Gators meet in Atlanta to determine the SEC Championship game. The two teams met in week 7 of the regular season, with Florida claiming a 38-28 victory in The Swamp. LSU controlled much of the first half, leading by 14 points on two occassions, but costly turnovers and a stifling Florida defense in the 2nd half led the Gators to a thrilling come from behind victory. A Florida victory would lock up the Gators' spot in the BCS National Championship Game and secure their first undefeated regular season in school history. An upset victory by the Tigers would spoil the Gators party and likely send LSU to the Sugar Bowl. It should be a knockdown, dragout fight between the SEC's best and most talented teams on both sides of the ball.

ACC Championship Game ~ Tampa, FL
#2 Clemson vs. #17 Virginia Tech

The Clemson Tigers come in undefeated and have dominated every team in its path to Tampa. With an offense relying heavily on run/pass threat James Davis and a defense that has been lightning fast and stingy all season, the 17th ranked Hokies have an uphill battle to climb. Virginia Tech has marched methodically through its ACC schedule, with its one conference loss coming in Tallahassee to Florida State (21-28). Look for the Hokies to attempt to mave the chains and control the clock in this, the first meeting between the two schools this season. A Clemson victory likely locks up their spot in the BCS National Championship Game, while the Hokies are holding out hope for the upset win and birth in the Orange Bowl. Either way, the winner of this game is headed for Miami in January.
