Florida State - open week

Patch #2 Coming Soon

Patch #2 will soon be ready for you to download to your PS3. Some of these changes will be really good, especially for DEFENSE in the game. Here is what the patch will address:

Online
- Ability to view your Online Dynasty HQ through EA Sports World
- Improved online performance

Dynasty
- Fixed a couple recruiting exploits
- Faster simming between weeks

Custom Stadium Sounds
- You can now hear opponent stadium sounds as the visiting team

Gameplay
- Improved coverage on kicks
- Hook Zones depth keeps defenders in their zones
- Fixed an issue with the Strafe Catch
- Allow fumbles to occur when diving
- WR screen routes improved

Bug Fixes
- AI sliders for will now work correctly
- An issue with missing stats after simming has been fixed
- Ball carrier will no longer run out of bounds when changing hands and heading towards the sidelines
- Fixed an exploit that allowed the slot receiver to burn the safeties in a prevent defense
- Fixed a bug where the the ball would hit the cross bar, drop through, and not be counted
- Fixed a bug that would prevent Hot Routes from working

Week 1 Schedule

Sometime Sunday afternoon, I will be advancing the dynasty to week 1. Any preseason activities you want to take in must be complete by then. Technically, you all can start with your week 1 games on Sunday night. Here is the schedule of games for week 1 (also found at the right of the blog screen):

Florida State ~ Open Week

All games need to be played and week 1 recruiting completed by next Sunday night (Aug. 24). I will advance the season at around 10:00 p.m. Eastern time on Aug. 24. Then, week 2 will begin...with the same timeline (games & recruiting to be completed by the next Sunday at 10 p.m.).

PS3 Patch is Released

In the "better late than never" category, the PS3 patch is finally out. When you turn on the game, you'll be prompted to download the software update. After you download the patch, if you haven't already downloaded any rosters, you can go to the EA LOCKER menu on the game and download rosters directly from your system.

**Very important---if you've already loaded rosters and accepted the invitation to join the dynasty, you can't replace your current roster file with another one. The old file will still work fine, though.**

To download them from the EA Locker, search for rosters in the following lockers:

- cdj

Draft Concludes...

Thanks to everybody for making the draft run so smoothly! I sent all of you an "add friend" request on the PS3 network. You have to be added as "friends" before I can invite you to the dynasty.

Also, the roster post I made (see below) works. I now have all the rosters on my game and so far there are no problems. You will just need to transfer them from a flash drive to your ps3...just follow the instructions in the post and it's a piece of cake and takes about 2 minutes.

Hopefully we'll get the dynasty set up in the next day or to so that I can edit schedules and we can start recruiting. Week 1 of the season will be played from August 17-23, so get your teams in shape for a long, grueling season!

Rosters

I found this online and it seems to be legit! I'm going to try it out this weekend, but if it works, we'll have full rosters (except for the 4 teams mentioned in the link) and you can edit your players. You have to do this via a USB flash drive to your PS3 to edit your players. It explains everything in the link...and the "download link/file" is also found here:

Of course, the patch EA Sports is supposed to release any time now will allow you to just download the rosters straight from the EA LOCKER feature on the game, but if any of you are getting impatient, or if EA delays this too much longer, I thought you all might be interested in this info.

EA Sports messes up again!

Apparently, there's been a mess-up with the patch for the PS3 and it's going to be a "few more days" before it's released. This is ridiculous, but hopefully it will be released soon, so we'll have the ability to have full rosters, edit them, etc...

In the meantime, here's the plan of action for the dynasty...

Today, I will post the video of the draft order. We have 9 teams in the league, and teams must be selected from the SEC or ACC based on the guidelines stated in the post below (two teams per divsion in each conference, the 9th player to draft may pick any unchosen team from either conference or division).

Once the draft order is set, we can start drafting in order 1 through 9. We can either do it on the blog (in the comments section), on email, or both. If we do it on email, please hit "REPLY ALL" to your emails so everyone will know what teams are available.

After our teams have been drafted and we all know who we'll be playing our dynasty with, you can start practicing with your team.

I will send each of you an INVITATION TO JOIN DYNASTY from the PS3, that will show up as a message on your main PS3 menu screen (the menu on the PS3, not the actual game menu). Keep in mind, once we start the dynasty, those will be the rosters we use throughout the season...so I'd like to hold off until the patch comes out so that we can all have the named players, unless it's going to be more than a week. This will also give everyone a chance to practice playing with their team either against the cpu or online against other people BEFORE we start the dynasty the week of August 17-23.

The League is Set

We have 9 teams/players in our dynasty. The complete list is on the right hand side of this page. I plan to post the video of the draft order on here sometime tomorrow...so until then, I am accepting any and all bribes, gift cards, cash and checks, and free pizza from anyone eho would like to "improve" their draft position!

I'm pumped that we'll be starting the dynasty soon...looks like the week of August 17-23 will be week 1.

How To Get Full Rosters on NCAA 09 for FREE

As many of you know, there's a feature on this year's game called EA Locker where you can go into the game and download things (completed named rosters, custom stadium sounds) that other users have posted. In order to do this, you have to know the person's PS3 user name who you'll be downloading from.

****WAIT TO DO THIS UNTIL AFTER YOU'VE DOWNLOADED THE FIRST PATCH ON THE GAME!!!!****

Go to this website and on the right side of the screen, under PS3, there will be an always updating list of PS3 usernames who you can download the full rosters from. When you download them, they go straight to your PS3 (no flash drives or memory sticks needed) and you're all set. All of the teams' players will be named correctly! You can edit your rosters from there.

It's as easy as that. But like I said, I'd wait until a few days after the patch is released to make sure they work with the patch.

This feature, for me anyway, adds so much to the game, it's almost hard to play without it.

Patch #1 in the House?

According to http://www.ncaastrategies.com/, the first patch has been released for the XBOX 360 and will be released to the PS3 either today or tomorrow.

When starting the game, you will be prompted to download the update.

This patch corrects the error that would lead to the game freezing when editing a certain number of teams and also eliminates the error that would reset team depth charts when players are edited.

Anyone who hasn't sent me their PS3 username needs to do so ASAP, or you won't be added in the dynasty!

Details of the 2nd Patch being released by EA Sports

This is the information for the 2nd patch being released for the game by EA Sports. The 2nd patch should be released sometime in September, while the 1st patch (to fix the rosters/naming players issue) will be released any day now. This 2nd patch will change the game for the better, and it won't affect th start date of our dynasty!

ACC pulling ahead of Big XII

It looks like, for now anyway, that our dynasty will be SEC & ACC (survey results have been updated below). I'll update everyone if something changes. I, for one, voted for SEC/ACC, so I think this will be a great change for the dynasty.

Also, on a side note...good luck to dynasty players StuBucksman (Adam) and Rob (user name TBD) as they begin football practice today in the quest to make the Hawkins Middle School Commandos the most disciplined, hard-nosed, physical, and dare I say, relentless, middle school team to ever step foot onto the gridiron! Coach 'em up boys!
